LayoutLock is operated by Yasar Berker Gungor, an individual based in Türkiye. LayoutLock is a macOS menu bar app for saving and restoring window layouts. This Privacy Policy explains the data practices for the app and website.
Summary
- LayoutLock stores saved layouts, preferences, and diagnostic logs locally on your Mac.
- LayoutLock does not automatically upload your saved layouts or diagnostic logs.
- macOS Accessibility permission is required before LayoutLock can inspect and move windows from other apps.
- Pro checkout is handled by Creem. LayoutLock does not receive or store payment card details.
Information stored by the app
LayoutLock saves workspace data such as layout names, window records, display-relative window positions, preferences, hotkeys, and related app settings. This data is stored under the app support folder on your Mac.
Accessibility permission
macOS requires Accessibility permission before an app can inspect and reposition windows owned by other apps. LayoutLock uses this permission for capture and restore features. If the permission is missing, LayoutLock runs in limited mode and prompts from the app.
Diagnostics
LayoutLock keeps local diagnostic logs to help troubleshoot capture and restore issues. These logs are local-only JSON-lines records, are capped at 5 MiB, and are pruned after 7 days. You can export, reveal, or delete diagnostic logs from the app settings.
Support requests
If you contact support, you may choose to share information such as your email address, message text, screenshots, and exported diagnostics. If you contact support from the app, LayoutLock can attach the local log when one is available.
Purchases
LayoutLock Pro is a one-time purchase through Creem, which handles checkout and payment details as the merchant of record. LayoutLock does not receive or store your payment card details. If you request a refund, your purchase email or Creem order ID is used to locate and process the purchase.
License activation
When you activate, validate, or deactivate Pro, LayoutLock sends the license key and an app-generated device identifier to the LayoutLock licensing service, which communicates with Creem. The licensing service stores one-way hashes instead of the raw license key and device identifier, along with the activation identifiers and operational records needed to validate the license, prevent abuse, and support deactivation.
Website and analytics
When deployed, the website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Hosting and security providers may process ordinary request metadata needed to serve the site. The website includes a production-only Cloudflare Web Analytics hook, but it does not load unless an analytics token is configured. When enabled, Cloudflare Web Analytics can collect page-performance and usage metrics through Cloudflare's browser beacon.
Third-party services
LayoutLock uses Cloudflare for website hosting, licensing infrastructure, and inbound support-email routing; Resend for outbound support-email delivery; Creem for checkout and license management; and the destination email provider to receive support messages. These providers process information only as needed to provide their respective services.
